About me
I studied philosophy at the University of Cambridge in the late 1970s. I then worked as a tax adviser while continuing my philosophical work.
Now I pursue research in philosophy and teach the subject at adult education centres. I also continue to advise on tax policy part-time.

In 2010 I published a second book, Deliberation and Reason. It is about how we need to see our processes of reasoning in order to support our conception of ourselves as self-directed subjects, and how we can reconcile that conception of ourselves with our scientific understanding.
